Jeg har gått gradene i bransjen. Det startet med oppvask og frokostservering med lange lilla negler og platå sko.
Det er en stund siden jeg kom til Høvikodden på prøvejobbing, etter å ha jobbet som bankettservitør på Park Hotell i Sandefjord. Det var et par lange år hvor livet ved siden av skolen bestod i å synge Grand Prix sanger, rydde glass på Grand i Horten, eller vaske opp på Åsgårdstrand hotell. Dette var før jeg møtte min flotte mann, fikk meg en hyggelig leilighet på Majorstuen, og jobb her på Emil & Samuel, byens flotteste nattklubb og house scene.
Jeg drømte egentlig om å bli skuespiller , men syntes det var greit å ha noe å falle tilbake på. Servitør var jo et godt valg. Alle andre i kokkeklassen syntes at Trond Moi var verdens cooleste. Selv hadde jeg nok med å severe frokost på Park Hotell og holde styr på ca 2 meter langt hår, samt føle på usikkeheten rundt det å jobbe som servitør med lange lilla negler og platå sko. I tillegg måtte jeg servere mat i høyden. Det var tydelig at jeg hadde ting å lære.
Mange på Høvikodden hadde rosa hår , rasta fletter , var skinna, med piercinger i lepper og ører, samt jobbet i Dr. Martins army boots ved siden av. Folk kom som de var. En god ting!
En passe streng og cool svensk sjef lærte meg om vinens verden. Jeg fikk også smake på smerten ved å stå stille og ta imot gjester i 4 timer uten tisse pause. I dag anbefaler denne mannen vin på P4 og produserer selv edle dråper på italiensk.
Trond Erik ble passe tynn i håret av mine 4 dager på kjøkkenet, men det blir folk av de fleste. Jeg tenker ofte på alle de gode opplevelsene, de sene kveldene og mest av alt, alle de fantastiske menneskene jeg har møtt .
Jeg har tatt med meg den kunnskapen videre, og bruker den på Emil & Samuel! Jeg ble ingen skuespiller. Emil & Samuel er den perfekte scene for meg – Her kan jeg både jobbe proffesjonelt og ikke minst leke med Viva i helgene.
